Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in salt, vanilla, and eggs one at a time.
  5. Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, do not overbake.
  • Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for variety.
