Churro Saltine Toffee

A delightful dessert combining the sweetness of toffee and the crunch of Saltine crackers, topped with cinnamon sugar for an irresistible treat.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly until combined.
  4. Add in the vanilla extract and bring to a boil for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Pour the toffee mixture over the Saltine crackers, spreading evenly.
  6. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top, allowing them to melt.
  8. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  9. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add chopped nuts on top before the chocolate layer.
  • This dessert can be made in advance and stored for several days.
