  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup coarse salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in melted butter, then add flour and salt. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each into a long rope.
  6. Shape each rope into a pretzel and dip in a baking soda solution before placing on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Mix sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over pretzels before serving.
