  • 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the rigatoni in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Add the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, stirring until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Add the cooked rigatoni to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
