Gooey Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars You’ll Love

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Drizzle with half of the salted caramel sauce.
  8. Spread the remaining batter on top and drizzle with the rest of the caramel sauce.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle sea salt on top before baking.
  • Serve warm for a gooey texture or chilled for a firmer bar.
