How to Make Strawberry Shortcake Sushi – A Fun Dessert Roll

Learn how to make a delicious and fun dessert roll with strawberry shortcake flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • 4 sheets nori (seaweed)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rice and water in a pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat and simmer covered for about 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
  4. Stir in sugar and vanilla extract until dissolved.
  5. Allow the rice to cool completely.
  6. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat, spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori.
  7. Layer strawberries and whipped cream in the center of the rice.
  8. Carefully roll the sushi tightly with the mat.
  9. Slice the roll into pieces and serve chilled.
