One-Pan Bold Honey BBQ Chicken Rice

A delicious and easy one-pan meal featuring bold flavors of honey BBQ chicken combined with rice.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup honey BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken thighs with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides.
  4. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  5. Add rice to the skillet and stir for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and honey BBQ sauce, then stir to combine.
  7. Place the chicken back in the skillet on top of the rice.
  8. Cover and simmer for 25-30 minutes until the rice is cooked.
  9. Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in BBQ sauce for a couple of hours before cooking.
  • Adjust the sweetness by changing the amount of honey BBQ sauce.
