Rich Chicken Stroganoff

A rich and creamy chicken stroganoff recipe that features turkey bacon for added flavor.

  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Add mushrooms and cook until softened.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Slowly add chicken broth while stirring until the sauce thickens.
  7. Stir in sour cream, Dijon mustard, paprika, and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Return the turkey bacon to the skillet and mix well.
  9. Serve over noodles or rice and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of sour cream.
  • Pair with fresh parsley for garnish.
